IMPROVED, STRONGER SCHOOLS

ZERO-RATE-CHANGE

VOTE YES TUESDAY, FEB. 25

For decades, our schools have been the heart of this community. But as they age, they struggle to meet the needs of today’s students. Crumbling infrastructure, outdated spaces, and safety concerns demand our attention.

The Feb. 25 bond proposal is a smart, responsible plan to make real improvements for our kids and our schools without changing our tax rate.

This is our chance to build a brighter future for all of us in Wichita. Improving our schools will strengthen our city for generations to come.

A YES Vote Means:

  • Stronger schools.

  • Safer, updated learning environments

  • Efficient buildings, lower maintenance costs

  • Better career training opportunities

  • A brighter future for Wichita.

Zero-Tax-Rate-Change

Thanks to strong financial planning, the district can complete these critical updates without changing the tax rate.

Think of it like a homeowner refinancing a mortgage or using equity to cover major home repairs—this allows them to make large improvements without increasing their monthly payments.

Similarly, the district will pay off old bonds and issue new ones, using the same tax rate you’re already paying to fund these much-needed school repairs and updates.

ADDRESSING REAL NEEDS

Our aging schools, many built over 60 years ago, urgently need updates to classrooms, labs, safety, accessibility, and infrastructure to support best practices in teaching and learning, improve student performance, and prepare students for the demands of today’s rapidly changing world.

A SMART PLAN

This plan retires aging, underused schools and replaces them with updated, more efficient buildings, reducing costs and protecting the $5 billion investment in our schools—creating stronger communities where families want to live, businesses want to grow, and neighbors work together for future generations.
